Meet Home Inspector Michael Scher

Michael Scher is the owner and licensed home inspector of Austin Home Inspection Team. When not inspecting homes throughout the greater Austin, Texas area, you’ll find Michael dedicating all of his free time to his family. He’s been married for more than 2 decades, and he and his wife are the proud parents of 3 boys and 4 girls.

The Schers homeschool their children, and Michael served as the 9th-grade teacher in their homeschool co-op for three years. Michael also gives back to his community by regularly supporting his local church, American Veterans, and the Shriners Hospital for Children.

Experience

Prior to becoming a home inspector in 2005, Michael worked in the high-tech industry as a software tester. In the early 2000’s, Michael began researching different careers in which he could be self-employed, financially secure, and able to spend more quality time with his growing family. After much thoughtful consideration, Michael decided a career as a home inspector would be the ideal fit and began training for and earned his Professional Inspector License in Texas, TREC# 8529. Michael strictly follows the TREC’s Standards of Practice.

Attention to detail was a critical part of Michael’s skills as a software tester, and he found home inspecting drew on this same strength. Both homeowners and realtors in Austin, TX depend on the friendly, professional, and accurate residential inspections provided by Austin Home Inspection Team.
